Mambola plays classic jazz, latin jazz and Brazilian bossa nova.  Mambola’s influences are those jazz giants whose creativity and curiosity led them to cross cultures and develop new genres.  Artists like Joao and Astrud Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Stan Getz whose collaborations started the bossa nova craze are strong influences on Mambola.  Latin combos like Cuba’s Buena Vista Social Club and East Harlem’s Joe Cuba Sextet figure into the band’s sound as well.  Other influences include jazz greats like Nancy Wilson, Billie Holiday, Wes Montgomery, Wynton Kelley, and Dizzy Gillespie, and composers like Duke Ellington and Cole Porter.

Blessed with a chemistry and harmony that only siblings share, Mambola is always a hit with audiences, whether playing an intimate coffeehouse in New York City, entertaining wedding guests, or touring the northeast.  Interpreting classic standards in fresh ways, and experimenting with original compositions, Mambola offers a familiar yet fresh experience to those hungry for good music.
